NCA Code of Conduct

This document provides general guidelines for conduct for NCA members when playing on public servers. For OGL matches this provides SPECIFIC conduct guidelines that ALL members must follow. The guidelines for public matches are only guidelines. NCA has a reputation of being a fun, fair, skilled and mature clan. These guidelines are aimed at maintaining and spreading this image as we become more well-known as a clan in the TFC world.

PUBLIC SERVERS

  1. Cursing is expressly prohibited by OGL rules. As a matter of practice, we should refrain from cursing on public servers. There is always another way to get your point across, apart from cursing.
  2. Do not belittle people of inferior skill. We were all newbies at one point and would do well to remember this when someone infuriates us with actions that are products of a lack of experience or knowledge of the game.
  3. Spam - A very general and broad term that people love to toss out all the time when confronted with grenades of any kind. When confronted with what you feel is spam, try not to complain about it. Spam is a part of the game and something we will see a lot of in OGL matches, even and especially from the top clans. Spam is something we all need to learn to deal with. If you can learn how to deal with it in a public game, it will make you all the more prepared to deal with it in an OGL match. It is almost guaranteed that we will see respawn spam in matches that we play in.
  4. Trash talking - Is a part of the game and something we all partake in. Trash talk all you want, as long as it is good fun or in RESPONSE to mean spirited talk. Never be the first to degenerate into personal and mean spirited trash talk. The best course of action would be to simply ignore what they have to say and simply kick their ass on the playing field. Take the higher road, you may appear to be backing down to that player, but you will appear to be the bigger person to everyone else on the server. Sometimes it is simply not possible for a person to keep their cool and take the higher road. Lord knows it has happened to all of us and will continue to happen to all of us. All that we ask is that we keep such instances to a bare minimum.

OGL MATCH CONDUCT

These are Rules, not guidelines and must be adhered to by everyone.

  1. No messagemode1 communications. For every match we will appoint one person to be our representative. This person will handle ALL communications with our opponents. At no time should ANYONE besides, the captain, say anything on messagemode1. In addition to this, do not say anything on teamsay that you would not want the opponent to see. There always remains the possibility that you accidently hit the wrong key and say something that could compromise a victory for NCA if a match is contested. We have already had an instance of a message being accidentally broadcasted to everyone. Let's not let that happen again.
  2. Under no circumstances should we ever curse in teamsay. This for the reason mentioned above.
  3. If you are scheduled to play in a match, meet on the Academy server a MINIMUM of 30 minutes b4 the match is to start. This is to so that we can be 100% sure that everyone knows what is expected of them in the upcoming match, position wise and otherwise. There will also frequently be last minute adjustments in strategy and line-up changes. If you know that you cannot make the 30 minute mark, but know for a fact you will make it b4 the match, let a board member know ASAP.
  4. Connect to the scheduled servers prior to the match. Do this in order to prevent unexpected connection problems that would otherwise cause us to play undermanned.
  5. When connecting to the Academy server before a match, make sure that you are connected to the Battlecom server and have all your hotkeys properly set. If you do not have Battlecom working for a match you will not play. No exceptions. We simply cannot have a player that is cutoff from team communications.
  6. When a round is over send a 'gg' message to the opponent and immediately disconnect. This is the ONLY time anyone, besides the captain, should ever say anything to the opponent. Upon disconnecting, switch over to the Global Battlecom server so that we, as a team, can discuss the just finished round and prepare for the next one. At the conclusion of all rounds we will discuss what we saw and experienced. What worked for us, what didn't. What worked for the enemy and what didn't. We will disseminate everything that happened and learn from it.
  7. Stay within your assigned role. Do not stray from it EVER. Your teammates are counting on you to fulfill that role. While doing something different may make you, personally, more effective, it is almost guaranteed to make the team as a whole less effective. If you have an idea for an adjustment, mention it to your respective captain (offense or defense). They will determine if the adjustment is warranted and make the call.

The OGL rules of conduct are designed to reflect our 'beat-your-ass' attitude. We will all connect as one, disconnect as one, and function as one. We will show up, act in a sportsmanlike manner, and then just beat their collective ass all over the map.
